Vanaja (2023)

This series of three sculptural vases is inspired by my childhood memories of Finnish winter. My family used to make trips on the ice of lake Vanaja. I was intrigued by the forms, textures, and reflections of frozen water. Grown up, I am now worried by the carrying capacity of our environment. Cold winters are crucial for the whole Nordic way of living. Vanaja-series is my way to capture the beauty of winter before it’s gone.
